I'm looking at buying a starter smart phone for my daughter on one of the "capped" Monthly plans with Tesco. She'll be making a few calls and texts but won't be using data.

She seems interested in two phones: Samsung Galaxy Mini -v- Sony Xperia Tipo.

Anyone any comments good or bad about these two phones? Or should she look at buying something else?

Any advice offered would be appreciated! ;)

you should do a comparison on the two phones, just go into google and type comparison phones, you will have to write in the two phones they will then appear side by side and it will then show you which one is better

Here ya go. The Xperia Tipo basically wins out on everything but battery life.

Picked up the Tipo last night. The hardest part was getting a Tesco store with one in stock. The only one to hand was in Balbriggan.

Also, they're doing a deal in-store with a voucher which gives you €15 off any mobile costing more than €75. So the Tipo cost €84 in the end!

Oh, and a little lady is delighted with it too :D
