Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,
Are there any funding options available to a person that is currently in full time employment to complete an online/distance course,

No, their employer may help, and they can claim tax back on fees at the standard rate if its an approved college (over a certain threshold).

Nothing from SUSI or BTEA as far as I know.

Some employers have Educational Assistance Programs where they may part/fully fund courses (generally have to be related to upskilling you in your current role with the company).

Otherwise there is Tax Relief on Tuition Fees - but a good chunk is disallowed

e.g. If your yearly fees are €3000 in 2015, the first €1500 of the claim is disregarded so you can only claim relief on €1500. 20% of €1500 = tax credit of €300. And of course you must have actually paid tax in your job to claim that tax back.
