Whatever you do - stay clear of "just dance" dance classes - the instructor is a complete nightmare. Whatever you don't complain about anything - He goes mental!!!

I have just had a really bad experience with Just-Dance in Dublin, could anyone recommend another dance company?? From now on - I am not going to any company that is not recommended - as you have to pay all the money upfront - and of course no refunds!! so the instructor can be as rude and mean as he likes, as their is nothing you can do about it. Or is there? He said that their wasnt. Any advice?

What style of dance are you looking for? Try CoisCeim for contemporary, jaszz, musical theatre and choreography projects. Also Dancehouse has evening classes in purpose built studios. Very good teachers in a variety of styles.

I would recommend hip hop classes in The National Dance Academy in Temple Bar. Nice dance studio with mirrors, young people, great teacher who makes the class good fun and in my opinion the class is pretty fast paced :)

I'm looking for dance class in West Dublin. I would be interested in Hiiphop/Street dance, Ballet or Jazz classes.

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to see if anyone out there give Quickstep or Jive classes, I have always wanted to learn, and now is the time!

I have looked up pretty much all the dance companies and I see that the quickstep and other similar dances are grouped in as 'ballroom' for weekly hour long classes, so I guess it would take me quite a while to master this dance.

Took up swing last year and loved it, and now keen to enjoy another fun dance before hitting the tango/paso.

Would love to hear from anyone who could help?

    Thank you!

I'd be interested in jive also, and tap dancing, in Dublin city. I've looked at some of the links posted earlier but they don't seem to cover these specifically. Thanks for any suggestions :)

Hi, I am looking for a dance class in Dublin that would be the best type for a beginner/intermediate adult looking to get into musical theatre. Im not sure what sytle of dance would be the best to do classes in. Any suggestions?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14 ninge

You could try a jazz, contemporary or ballet course, they are the three main areas that the dance colleges in Ireland cover for students who want to go into musical/dance theatre. DanceHouse on Foley Street (beside Connelly Station) have all three and the terms are only starting this week. This is their website - www.danceireland.ie.

The majority of teachers over at DanceHouse (Foley Street, D1) are professionaly trained dancers, and are all very friendly. Alot of the teachers do drop in and they even do taster classes a couple of times a year so you can try everything and meet the teachers before you sign up.
