Gortadroma landfill, out near Shanagolden. Think it is €9 for a carload.

Afaik, you can bring it to the Mungret recycling centre and pay for the disposal, closed on Mondays.

Mungret did not take Carpet last time I was down there....
hence I've a room full + underlay rolled up and squashed into the shed,
shredding it bit by bit each week and trowing it into the bin.

When was the last time? I was there about 2 months ago, saw a skip on the righthand side as you exit, full of non recycable material, I thought it was for stuff that some clowns tried to smuggle in and the centre got caught with. Discussed it at work and a work colleague asked at the centre on his next trip about disposing carpets and was told that yes they now take it and mattresses.

I'm afraid I've no other details.

They wouldn't take any carpet from me either.... told me to look at the web-site for non accepted goods.

    http://www.limerickrecyclingcentres.ie/material_not_accepted.htm

Examples of materials which cannot be accepted at the Limerick Recycling Centres:

Clothing or Textiles that are soiled or in bad condition
    Commercial Builders Waste
    Carpet
    Clingfilm (accepted in Mungret only)
    Fibre Glass Items
    Household Furniture (sofa's, chairs etc.)
    Mattresses
    Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF)
Plaster Board (not accepted for landfill)
Treated Timber e.g. creosote and painted.
