Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Portable directional wi-fi antenna - recommendations?

    I have LOS to a Wi-Fi access point, about 400m distance. I was hoping to use a portable USB directional wi-fi antenna, in the hope it might pick up the signal.... more of an experiment than crucial, so just want to get a cheap and cheerful portable unit.

    Can anyone make any recommendations??

    I very much doubt a wifi access point could transmit 400m. If it could it would most likely be illegal as it would drown all other wifi in the immediate surroundings. A point to point wireless is not the same as a wifi enabled router or access point.

    The AP is obviously not transmitting 400m range, hence why I want a directional antenna to try to pick it up, as I can point right to the AP

    You need a pair of Ubiquiti Nanostations setup in a point to point link. Trying to connect to a residential AP 400m away is madness.

    Point taken. I use nanostations in another instance, but not possible this time... I'll just leave it
