Drip from hose behind engine, Ford Focus

    Hi while changing the oil on my focus i noticed a dripping from a hose connector behind the engine. It looks to be coolant, can anyone tell me what this hose is called, the drip is quite slow.

    The spot that leaks is circled in this pic, am i correct in thinking its coolant.

    It's a heater hose, if the pipe is'nt perished, replace the hose clip.

    Thanks, Do you know if i can just disconnect the clip is this hose under pressure or full of coolant when the car is not running.

    Won't be under pressure once the engine is cold.

    You will lose coolant in the process of changing it so it's a good time to change the change the coolant.
    If it's anything like most Irish cars I'm sure the coolant hasn't been changed in a few years....

    You will need to find out if it's the inlet pipe or outlet pipe when asking for the part.
    To find out, let the car run to full temperature and turn the heating on max temperature with the blower on max, leave for a minute or two.

    Go back to the engine bay and with the engine running and heater on feel the pipes.
    The warmer pipe will be the inlet and the cooler one will be the outlet.
