Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

education,conversation... call me old fashioned, but it might not be essential to have censorship software to stop people doing things that you don't want them to...

There will always be those sites what will get past most software.

Even if you put on maximum detection or use a blacklist, you could end up blocking sites like ireland.com etc.

The software i have seen blocks sites that are not pr0n and let pr0n sites through.

isn't there ways around some by simply typing in the ip address as oppposed to the name and it gets through ?

Bordermanager is the only one that has ever blocked anything close to proper: but it goes too far, also. Blocking dictionary.com, pops into my mind :/ Even the website of the said institute employing it kicked up an error at one point!! :p

Most other solutions can be disabled by the client (when run as a service), the address can obsfuscated, or it may simply be bypass by changing settings in the web browser (proxy-based solutions :: "Direct connection" or an open proxy address = freedom) ...
