Will the quality of 3G service to customers now suffer at the expense of 4G promotion, does one take from the other, or are they standalone.

Different bands. If anything it *may* take load off the 3G cells as more and more move to 4G (slowing it down).

It could also saturate a sites backhaul which would slow 3G or 4G sites could have its backhaul upgraded which could provide more capacity to 3G assuming radio waves aren't saturated.

Hard to tell really.

My average Meteor 3G speeds have increased in the last year. I put down to people switching over to 4G in the area so improved contention ratio. But only guessing!!!!
