I have a vague recollection of girls playing a game and that being part of the rhyme they used. Anyone remember it?

Nope, it was definitely, Dublin, Derry, Cork, and Kerry although your rhyme sounds vaguely familiar too, maybe one is the second verse of the other. :)

    I was told

'Londonderry, Cork and Kerry. Spell that without a K'

Tried it on my primary school teacher who was from Tyrone, and was quickly reminded that it was Derry, not Londonderry.

    :)
