Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just need an opinion on the images from Google Maps.

    Ballymagillin is marked on the old OSI maps as a fort.

    This site is already a Recorded Monument (ME049-015 - Ringfort/Rath). Early editions of the Ordnance Survey show it as a substantial earthwork that was levelled. The townland is Mulhussey.

    The Bing Maps image of the site is a bit clearer, generally Bing's resolution is higher then googles and a lot of their images were taken in winter. The low winter sun casts longer shadows which better highlights features that are hard to spot at ground level.

    I've got a feeling that this is spoil or topsoil that has been stockpiled on the site. Perhaps the land was due for development that never happened?
