or if you check for energy surges this will give you a better idea if something out of the ordinary is happening.

    Interesting you mention "energy surge"

i am constantly changing bulbs in the 3 sets of lights in this hall / landing,
they are constantly blowing on me. i even opened all the light fittings and wall witches and tightened all the connections but im still feeding these lights with new bulbs !

1 way to check the bulbs out so as to try and eliminate a problem with the electricity supply, is to put different wattage bulbs from 30 to 100/150

I know this may give excessive light but if they all blow well then there is a good chance of unnatural activity.

i have 40 W bulbs in the fittings as per spec, i can go to 60W and see how it goes

yes but have different wattage bulbs at the same time,

the bigger the watt the more of a surge it takes to blow them, so if the low watt bulbs blow and the others dont it may be a problem with the wiring or switch board,

do any of the trip switches trip when they blow.

If light-bulbs are exploding and electronic devices are switching on and off, what’s happening?
Firstly, have you checked your power grid? Sometimes, as odd is it sounds, you might just have an energy surge. However… if this keeps happening and you know your house is wired correctly and there is no electrical storm at the time, then it could be a number of things.

The first and most common thing is that you or someone in your family/ place of this activity is having a psychic awakening. A psychic awakening is simply a “psychic puberty”. Here, instead of hormones, the psychic abilities are out of control, trying to assume some balance and the person themselves may feel unusual, having nightmares, experiencing things they don’t understand. Psychic puberty often happens at the same time as physical puberty, but it can be later or earlier depending on the person. Psychic puberty needs to recognized and controlled – unlike physical puberty, psychic puberty doesn’t calm down without some guidance,

but i think we need to answer the question fully, because there are other reasons for strange activity.

The second possibility is that you have an entity disturbing the energy. This entity may be a young entity (i.e. a child who died). As with above, this child may be affecting technological and electrical appliances because they themselves don’t understand what is happening. They might not realise they’re dead, or just have so much emotion, they can’t control it and thus things move and explode.

The final possibility is that you have a poltergeist, but remember, poltergeists are not a special kind of entity, just an entity that has so much emotion that it cannot control it. Like the second possibility, this entity is probably confused or frustrated about their situation, but often are not child spirits. Poltergeist energies are predominantly angry, filled with rage or carrying sadness they cannot fully express. Poltergeist energies tend to be reluctant to leave the place of haunting and need special treatment.

I think this is more than likely rodents of some description...

Bit of a sceptic myself. Seems like whatever it is, isn't harming you... but that's how it started out in Paranormal Activity............

Not trying to cause trouble but what evidence have you to support any of this as real?

there is no real solid proof, it is kinda like religion we depend on faith a lot of the time,

but there is the phenomenon which I am sure you yourself would of come cross,

walking into a room after 2 people had a row and you can feel the bad vibe, this is a form of energy it can not be explained but you know there was a row,

when you are in a room on your own and somebody walks in you don't hear them but all of a sudden you feel that someone is behind you, so you look around to see them standing there, again this is another form of energy which can not be explained,

but because these simple forms of energy happen to us it is a lot easier to believe these things do happen to some people,

this does not answer your question but might give you something to look at which will allow you to have an open mind to the possibility of formed energy or an entity.

I dont know what storm is but I guess its rodent killer. Maybe use some human food...

Whatever the noise is you should try and get it recorded and the upload it so we can listen...

Could be a rip in the space time fabric and you are encountering former residents. Sounds like they mean you no harm. These events usually stop after a while.

Before I state my case, let me inform you that I'm not much of a believer in ghosts n spirits, I have the 'religion' where "I believe when I see" moto.

But whats going on at my home these past few months has me a bit spooked. At first it was only my wife that had the experiences, and I really just laughed her off, saying she was hearing things !
But thats the problem , she was hearing things out on the landing of our two storey house. And it wasnt much of a deal to me until I started to hear them too.

What we hear is the sound of a child running along the landing. Since we have three kids, two of them mobile enough to run along the landing, we obviously taught it was one of them out of the bed using the bathroom.
But on numerous occassions, we would jump out of the bed as soon as we hear the sounds, run out onto the landing, but there would be no-one there. We'd check the kids, they would be out for the count.

Like I said, I have no reason to fabricate this story, these are simple facts. I have started to hear the same sounds, We would be wide awake when hearing them, not been woken up by them before someone asks.

Last week we had a baby over for the nite, during the nite my wife was sitting up giving the baby a nite feed, and she heard the same sounds again, a child running along the landing, she went to check it out, not a sign of any of the kids out of their beds.

Any thoughts from the specialist in here ?
Id be glad to hear them.

There was a new case in derbyshire (England) today,

the person in question got hit on the head with a small table and had a strong smell (before) of seaweed, she has left the house till someone checks it out,

The thing is who will check it out or who could you trust.

    To the OP:
Do you know the history of the house? Or who owned the house before you? Something you could try, if you are wide awake the next time you hear something, is to run out and quickly take a shot of the landing with a digital camera. Keep the camera by your bedside. I read somewhere that sometimes orbs can be captured on camera but not seen with the naked eye.

    Hello & Update

I have put the camcorder away, it didnt show up anything at all, but then again, while I had it rolling, i didnt hear a thing ! (Typical )

The rat poison in the attic hasnt been touched

The house itself it about 9 yrs old, built it ourselves on the in-laws land.
Nothing odd about site, we have asked already.

I have me fone on the locker every nite, use it as my alarm clock, it has a good 5meg camera, with a decent flash. I'll stick to this plan for the time been but who knows !
I think someone said here one time it will prob just go away, hopefully so.

    A

yes - that and a mixture of light reflection of insects, fly wings, dust etc etc. Some though (i dont know if its because most haunted used to say it all the time) believe 'orbs' are the 'first manifestations of a spirit'. they arent imo.

How often are you hearing the noises these days? have they got rarer or more common?

was it very common before this? I reckon its either a complete coincidence and there jsut happened to be some natural occuring sounds going on, or - and this is a pretty long shot - maybe there may have been something paranormal going on and its got a bit wary now it realises you are on to it.

The sound of Kids walking along a carpet'd hallway in the middle of the nite isnt that unusual I agree (and I'd swear on my life thats the sound we were both hearing, not mice or rats tip toeing around), only trouble is I couldnt seem to catch the kids, they were always found fast alseep in their beds every time.

Only last nite did we both hear the EXACT same sound again, only for our 5 yr old to appear at the bedroom door looking for a drink !

at least you knew what you were hearing and its nice to be able to get up and give them a drink ( well I think it is),

it gives more substance to the noise you were hearing when the kids did not appear at the door,

for it to be something strange.

    Thats my point exactly
We are so use to this rustling noise along the carpet that we were convinced its the kids on the landing in the begining, only when we go to check on them after they dont appear, we find them fast alseep, and we'd say to ourselves WFT what that !

    But hopefully its gone away.
NExt time I hear it and there are no sign of kids Im gonna hold a crucifix up in the air and shout "Come On Show yourself"
    LOL

Or one of the kids "Daddy will ya get me a drink, Im thirsty"

Ah, that would rule out overheating of the bulbs, which happens if they are set into the ceiling like spot lights.

Forgive me if someone else has suggested this, but do water pipes run under your landing? If there is air in the system then it can make odd noises, as can pipes that vibrate, or a dodgy heating pump (i just had to get mine fixed; it sounded like a cat being put through a mangle).

I've heard stories of 'ghostly noises' being cured simply by bleeding the central heating system, or even being the fault of underground watercourses.

It might be worth getting checked out.

    hello!

Here's my prediction, the problem will seem to disappear, until all of a sudden again some night its gonna come back, like a smack in the face, and it will continue, probably with more things happening than the last time. You're going to post that here some day. ?

well i know this may sound a bit obvious but have you tried talking to them.
like say "hay you kid's, do you know you don't have bodies and your making a lot of racket in my house!"
i know the simplest solution can often be over looked but it is an option.
maybe the entities making all the noise don't know they are dead?
i have had a lot of luck by simply asking particular entities if they know they are dead.
some times that' all i have to ask and they go away, instantly.
your situation may be a bit more involved then that but it is worth a shot.
have you asked them to leave, or do you just get annoyed and frightened by it?

Not a sight or sound for a long time.
My sister-in-law was travelling to the USA nearly a year ago, she stayed in our house the nite before she left. When she got up in the morning, she was telling us she heard one of the kids walking around on the landing outside her door. We didnt tell her anything about what was going on.

That was the last nite we have heard anything. we dont hear even a creak these days.

you said that when you check on your kids they are sound asleep, could one of them be sleep walking/running and you're hearing them as they return to bed so by the time you check on them they are back in the bed?

    This notion was considered alright.
But allot of the times when we would be listening to the 'footsteps', we could hear them going along the hall from the kids room towards the bathroom, which is further away from the kids bedroom. I would jump out of bed and find nothing, and the kids would be fast asleep.

We have floor boards under the carpet upstairs, so we could actually hear the creak in the usual places as well as the carpet shuffling.
