first cut of the year after being in the buffer for weeks. 85 off 15 for a nett 70. Should have been a whole lot better considering two different 7's on the back 9 including 1 on a Par 3 without losing a ball

As Rikand suggested to me - only post when I had a decent cut.

Sadly haven't made 5 - due to a high css.
But - still lowest ever. Target of 4.9 could be still on, but things not that easy in july and aug.
I'll have another good run at things in late Aug early, September.

Unlucky with high css fix, i would be surprised if you dont get down to your target, playing very well at the minute, putting is the key!!

Had a couple of 0.1s back since I last posted but shot 43 pts at the weekend to get a 1.4 cut to go to 9.6.but seeing as got a substantial cut already this year I got cut a further shot on and exceptional scoring clause 23.10 so at 8.6 now

Haven't played a singles comp this year yet! Hit 35 points last weekend on my own ball (in a fourball) in my fourth full round of the year so I'm confident I can beat my handicap with some more practice. I've been down to 13 previously so just going to try get back there. Two singles comps this weekend, though one is the medal so that probably won't go well off the back tees.

After drifting out to 11.9 i got my first cut of the year yesterday but ubfortunatly CSS was 72 not the usual 73, so instead of having my lowest ever handicap today I lost only .4. Anyhow playing atm so should loose a few more shots in the coming weeks. Also I changed my goal from 5.4 to 9.4. This being my first year in cat 2 i forgot how hard it is to lose shot when they are not taking .5 off you for ever shot better than CSS. If in September I can say i'm a single figure golfer i'll be one happy person!!

Was out to 13.9 but got a nice cut yesterday which sees me loose 1.9, with 42 pts on Saturday to win the Captain's Plate in Grange Castle, delight with myself

hopefully I can follow it up with another good round next weekend and get an ECR cut as well. Feel's like I've got passed a real road block, I've never been lower than 13 and have been stationary for the last couple of years since I started playing again after a break of about 10 years.

Not the comeback I had been hoping for. 15 comps played, 12 .1's but did get cut .2 at the weekend. Probably should have been a bit better but feel things starting to come around.

Since my last cut I thought that would nearly be that but last weekends events changed things. Playing off 9 I shot 36pts in a singles,i checked golfnet this evening to find out the Css was 76 so i got a cut of 0.8.seeing as this was my second time shooting 4 shots better than css in 4 comps I have got a 2nd exceptional scoring reduction this time of 2 shots so am now off 6(5.9).
Delighted and hoping it will drive me on

Lost .4 in the Junior Scratch in my club on Saturday just missing out on the overall nett. Gave .1 back on Sunday when parts of the game seemed foreign again :rolleyes: Think I found something towards the end of the round though

Small cut back to square 1 there lads. My first cut so felt pretty good - nerves on the last few holes prevented me from winning the comp but reassured by the thought that I left a lot of shots out there.. Finally had the self awareness to take the driver out of the bag and was using 4i/3w off the tee.

started at 16 handicap this year....played along time ago pretty well and this is my first year back since 20years or so playing only a few rounds a year. handicap goal for this year is 10...current handicap is 12 after being cut 4 shots yesterday with 44points at my club (citywest) first time seeing Exceptional Scoring Reduction on my gui page

Got to my target and lowest ever handicap - now a Cat 1 golfer. :eek:
What on earth is this 0.1 cuts all about - good help ye lads all these years in Cat 1. I hate it

So - will be happy to hold 5 this year.

Still feels wrong - but has been a laugh along the way.

Having posted here some time ago, expressing my intention to get back down to 2. I have not tee'd it up in any Competition due to a few distractions. I finally tee'd it up in this mornings Medal and got cut to 5.3
This beer tastes very very sweet.

My handicap had slipped out to 5.5 but played in the open comp on Wednesday and got back to 5. I was cruising to go a lot lower at one stage bot bottled it going down the last 5 holes.

another good round yesterday, a 79 gross around Grange Castle for 41pts off 12, saw the machete that is the ESR taken to my handicap, 1.0 cut for the round yesterday and another 2.0 for the ESR sees me into single figures for the first time ever!!!

the only problem with all these cuts is that it's going to make it very hard for me to get to good scores on tough courses in the final two society outings to make the top 10 in the golfer of the year :P

cheers Fix, it's mad, I've be stuck at 13 for the last 3 years, and I'm actually probably playing less golf this year than I have done over the last few. The big difference has been that I did a lot of work in the gym over the winter and past couple of months and this seems to have really improved my over all consistency, my bad shots are a lot less bad than they used to be! Added to that, any practice I have been doing is all short game and putting, it's all come together at last.

Jokser250. 16.8/15.9/17.6 got a .3 cut for 36 points in my clubs presidents prize sat but for final round Sunday had 26 and got .1 back I'm afraid , have had 2 buffer zone rounds the past few weeks in competitions as well so hopefully a nice cut isn't to far away !!
