Social Welfare entitlements

Hi guys, hope you can help. Sorry if this is the wrong forum but it seemed to be the best fit.

Basically I've worked in a large Irish bank for the last 6 years, and redundancy is starting to become a real possibility.

I own my own apartment as a single male with two cats to support. My question is that when the inevitable happens, what kind of social welfare would I be entitled to in order to keep the two cats in the lifestyle they've become accustomed to and also to keep up the mortgage payments on my house?

Nice one mate, especially for that last one. That mortgage interest one, is that the same as mortgage interest relief at source?

hey people, im just wondering i was working full time in my current job until i went to start college last september and now im part time but i was hoping to go full time again when we break for summer holidays in april but my job wont change me to full time as it is not busy enough, do ye think i would be entitled to claim part from social welfare so i can try pay my rent from april until sept when we start back at college again which i recieve a grant for?
