Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Have a problem with our 03 Peugeot 206. When idling, the car "chuggs" if you want a better word, even go as far as saying it shakes. The exhaust seems to stutter for a few secs then be "normal" for a few seconds. Even when reversing it seems to need more stick before starting off and again chuggs. Any advice? :confused:

    No lights on the dash, seems to start this craic after doing a bit of hard driving

    Mmm. I had something very similar with the Xsara a couple of years back. Coil-pack breaking down. Be interesting to see any OBD fault codes, if any. Might be showing one or more misfires.

    Will get it checked out, that car doesn't be used an awful lot anyway. Doesn't appear to be effecting the driving of it, more annoying than anything.

    Gonna agree with jimgoose. Citroen and Peugeot share everything and the coils give a bit of trouble with age. I thing its a big long single unit running along the back of the engine, slightly above the level of the rocker cover. Theyll act up a bit before bringing on lights. If it turns out to be that, Id probably change plugs too.

    Cheers guys, fed up with the stupid piece of sh1t. Speaking of lights, the headlights seem to have a mind of there own, Today they're auto, tomorrow they aren't :mad:

    Good little cars them, as is the Xsara. Being French, they will occasionally get a bit of a strop on, refuse to speak English and demand Roquefort and Sancerre. You just have to be patient! :D

    True, gave abit of bother when i first got it, but apart from that and this recent problem its going ninety. Not too much of a pig on fuel either :P
