    When I was in 3rd year college studying design me and a mate of mine bought berets. As a laugh, not a fashion statement. But then again, we'd sometimes head into college in fancy dress.

    Really though. Don't wear a beret. Don't.

    If you find a time-machine, and you go back to May 1968, and you're standing in an occupied art university block in the middle of Paris, and all around you theres art student 'situationists' coming up with clever slogans while sipping coffee....don't wear a beret, they'll just kick you out of the movement.

    If it feels right, then do it.
    Some flat caps can have a slight beret look to them, if you want to compromise.
