Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Being away to UCD on the first game of the season is like getting a great toy at Christmas but the batteries were forgotten.

Don't think we have ever had an easy ride there. Ill be happy enough as long as we do not lose.

Be my first trip to Richmond Park. Won't fully know what to expect, hopefully they may be able to nab a point.

We are completely decimated with injuries and suspensions for our game against Rovers. Shame, as with our first choice 11 I really fancied us to give Rovers a good go, and we play nice ball under Cooke so it would have been good for the tv cameras as well. As it is it'll be a backs to the wall, 4-5-1 at home job (we only have 1 striker available :()

    Still, can't wait!!

Say there will be a big Rovers crowd up for this one.

Shelbourne and Sligo would've been the ideal choice for TV coverage imo.

2 Mar 2012 Drogheda United 7:05 Shamrock Rovers Hunky Dorys Park TV - Draw
2 Mar 2012 Derry City 7:45 Bohemians The Brandywell - Derry
2 Mar 2012 St Patrick's Athletic 7:45 Bray Wanderers Richmond Park SPA
2 Mar 2012 UCD 7:45 Cork City UCD Bowl City
2 Mar 2012 Monaghan United 8:00 Dundalk Gortakeegan Dundalk

No basis for any of that, just guesswork

Getting excited about the start of the season now. But then I remember we're away to UCFCUKINGD and that excitement turns to "meh".

Will Barraclough be in charge this weekend? May be the best time to face Sligo. Has Gerry Carr left?

Yeah he'll be here. Gerry is still here and I can't see that changing.

I keep saying I'll pay attention for the full season instead of just checking results whenever I think of it. I'm hoping this season will be the start of that. What match is on TV?

Stupid college, won't be able to make it down to Derry =/.

Not really expecting anything, Derry gave us nothing last season,

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

RTE wanted it, but the gantry in Tolka isn't up to standard and supposedly would have cost €30,000 to be sorted according to our chairman last night at the Fans' Forum.

Sligo didn't want to be included in the first four televised games apparently.

And is it true that Tolka cannot be used for outside broadcasts anymore because the gantry is not safe?

Edit: sorry just spotted Gav's post.

Why would anyone want to be the home team on TV. You will lose at the gate and the FAI keep the money paid by RTE as compensation now, don't they? There is nothing to gain by being on TV.

They can keep the cameras out of the Showgrounds all season for all I care.

One of the benefits (maybe the only one now) is more exposure for your sponsors-those on your kit and around the ground.

Suppose you can't give raffle tickets out to TV viewers. :pac:

RTE agree fixture changes with the FAI not individual managers.
