Lenovo Z510 Optical Bay speed thinking of ssd instead

Hi,

I have a I5 Lenovo z510. I was wondering if their is a way to find out what msata mode the optical bay would work at as I would like to put a ssd in it.

I added an extra 4gb of memory and do that you have to dismantle the machine and dont want to do it again as it was a nightmare.

As I dont use the optical bay I though this may be a better solution

If you want to replace an optical drive with a storage drive, you need this. It should support SATA drives, don't know about mSATA though. There should be just a screw on the outside of the computer which keeps the optical drive in place, so I don't think that you'll need to take it apart.

That's what I did with my Lenovo G570. Only I use the SSD as the primary drive, from which I would boot my operating systems while I put the HDD that came with the laptop into the caddy, which I use for programs, games, music, and whatnot.
