Went and ordered it from Amazon thinking it was £32. However, they add VAT at the very end which brings it up to £39 (€44). This is the same price as Tesco are selling for so went and cancelled the order

It changed the VAT rate for me too but this only changed it to £33.81 not £39. Strange that happened to you....I ordered it on Tuesday (10th Nov) though.

Amazon is registered for VAT in Ireland so they charge the difference between UK VAT (15%) and Irish VAT (21.5%). So the price for CoD: MW2 goes to £33.81 but you can’t be caught for customs and the full 21.5% goes to the Irish exchequer. Also, Amazon delivery times for most items is very good, only about 3 days from ordering cause I think they have a distribution centre here (not 100% on this). Free delivery over £25 as well. So good deals and helps the Irish economy!!

+1 for Amazon from me too, ordered on Monday, sent Tuesday, arrived today, free shipping.

£33.81 - I was charged €37.55 on my card which is a very good deal in my opinion and saved me a lot of traipsing around the shops.

OK, so I only just got the game but it sounds like it will be worth the wait.

Slightly off topic but from reading some of the posts here it seems that Coolshop deliver to here. Whats the standard shipping rate/charge for a PC game for example?

I seen it higher on amazon aswell ,had to buy a few things earlier and seen the dearer price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,534 ✭✭✭✭Krusty_Clown

Cheapest listed price is now £38.75 + £6.99 for postage, as it's not an Amazon seller. Amazon's price is currently: £44.99, which is about a euro cheaper than the above price.

If you have a link to a cheaper Amazon price (XBox360) can you please post it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 856 ✭✭✭Limestone1

As far as I can see it has gone up to £44.99 and that is from Amazon with the super saver delivery.

£38.75 now by the looks of it. Have Amazon turned into a auction house or something?!?!

That price is from a third-party, not Amazon. Expect to pay £7 postage on top of that price.

Try find unhappy friends that don't like it, and snap it off them for 20 euro or so... i already had one from extra vision, but bought it as a present for someones bday.. cheap and cheerful.

I think amazon have a wierd price matching algorithm take for example Band of Brothers blu ray set - last night it was 17.58 but when play.com lowered their price today it went down to £15.98.

That would explain what was going on with the amazon price fluctuations.

I received the PC version for 28 euro from coolshopUk, I ordered it on the 11th NOV and received it 2 days later. If you oick express they willl not leave it at the house iof your not there. I think !!

The chap rang my bell and then ran off, i saw him jump in his delivery van and i had to chase him down and fight it off him and sign something.

i kid you not these guys are busy.
