Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi.

    I have a stupid question.

Because the euro is doing so poorly, I decided to look at computers on Amazon.de instead of .co.uk

There's a nice Lenovo Y50 there for about a grand. In euro, obviously.

Firstly, is that a good price?

Secondly, will the laptop be in German when I boot for the first time/will the keyboard be different?

Thirdly, and lastly, could I get that shipped here for a reasonable price?

    Thank you!

They keyboard will be slightly different (y and z keys swap places and lots of punctuation keys change place to make way for vowels with umlauts. The major one that annoys people a lot is that to get @, you have to use 'alt gr + q').
Google qwertz or German keyboard and it should show you the layout.

Generally you there is the option to set it up in English when you turn it on, but it depends on the version of Windows it is running.

I actually think that would annoy me too much. Big reason to avoid.

Where's the best place to buy a good laptop without getting boned by exchange rates?
