Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm using blacknight hosting and have a db that i've allowed access from external hosts and added my ip for access users to be allowed access it and am still getting the following error.

    (pymysql.err.OperationalError) (1045, \"Access denied for user 'x')

I tried this with PHP's Laravel and it was also denying me access to it. Anyone know how to fix this as its currently wrecking my head!

Make sure you're connecting to the external hostname.

Check your database credentials using phpmyadmin from your control panel.

What are you trying to do?

Try installing a MySQL gui on your local machine and connect from that to test, at least you'll rule out code issues.

If you're using Laravel, use homestead. It will make your job 10 times easier.
