Lads can I sail to Fishguard and rail sperately? Rather than book them as a package.
Also I'm staying in Swansea for the France game. Is Swansea easily accessible from Fishguard?
Cheers. Not long to go now!

Yes, but I have no idea why you would want to as it'll be way more expensive.

Anyone get their tickets in the post yet? Still waiting on mine

Have people seen how expensive the England vs Ireland game in Twickenham is for the warm up game?

Why anyone would pay £96 quid plus to a friendly i'll never know.

I had planned to bring my kids but decided against the moment that I saw the prices. Given the size of London I expect that they'll sell out anyway.

Total rip off for a friendly. But you're right - there'll be plenty of customers.

Thanks for the replies folks. I'm trying to figure out if I can make it to the match on a day trip to Stanstead. Match is at 1645 and last flight home leaves Stanstead at 2205.

You could easily do it. I will go out on a limb and presume its the Italy match your over for(ie a Sunday, so less traffic/but also less trains, so the option to switch at Tottenham Hale wont work well Id think).

you can train it round trip on the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street. Plenty of discounts available if you book early and/or travel in groups (best is booking up to a month before if going solo, full details: https://www.stanstedexpress.com/tickets-fares/ticket-types)
This option willl put you on what will be a very busy central tube line (Liverpool Street to Stratford) heading twoard the game (you need tickets for this too). On non match days, this trip would take about an hour, but you may struggle to get on a tube for a while thinking back to the experience around the Olympics to exit Stratford)

You can pre-book a taxi back from Stratford (pick a fixed point not at the stadium) for £40 Stratford to Stansted, for up to 4 people. The trip on a Sunday would generally be around 50 minutes but give a little extra for any match traffic. Booked for 8pm,youd have given post game numbers an hour to clear, and be in plenty of time for that last flight.

OK - I was wondering about a taxi, but assumed it would be more expensive. Thanks for your help.

Much bigger sales for the Ireland game, but they are offering heavy discounts for the France game, if you know the right people. We always get ripped off due to our numbers, hence why our games in the RWC2015 are more expensive against the minnows than their other neighbours France!
The IRish game tickets were cheaper to the English clubs, with 1/2 price children tickets available, up until last May.

Current discounted tickets blurb for their French warm-up!:

What a great chance to see two great teams as they warm up for the World Cup in September.

Tickets are discounted to £30 (£32.40 with fees) for the England v France game which kicks off at 8.00pm.

Bookings need to be completed using the below link via Ticketmaster: (All tickets are subject to availability)

Way more expensive? 80 euro a head b&b for 2 nights? Train in and out to Cardiff? Simples!
You show me cheaper than that in Cardiff and I'm there!

Boo, first time ever getting access relatively quickly, and nothing I want available (cheaper than B for Italy and France). Have been better tickets available on random days rather than their 'big' release.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,458 ✭✭✭kuang1

The 'latest availability' update link isn't showing any availability for the French or Italian games.
Anybody able to confirm that this is untrue?
Grey circle staring me down again!

Just got in...no France or Italy tickets left.

  • Registered Users Posts: 599 ✭✭✭shanagarry

I'm in - nothing for Italy or France now (were some Cat B France when I logged in first). Keep checking each day though, more will come online. I put tickets on resale at the start of the week and they didn't release them for this sale.

Ah, ok. Misunderstood, thought you just wanted to book the trains seperately but travel up as normal. Sail&Rail is significantly cheaper than booking ferry and train seperately.

Book the train in advance - tickets will go on sale 12 weeks beforehand and are much cheaper if you book a specific train.

  • Registered Users Posts: 883 ✭✭✭eclipsechaser

There's hospitality for the final on offer at £1,200 pp. Cat. D tickets. Double that for dinner and a Cat. A ticket.

No worries. Would I be right to assume that booking the sail/rail would be cheapie booking then separately rather than through Stena?

Mine arrived yesterday with DHL. Ordered tickets in November and a couple since the resale started.

They send you a email with a tracking number when the tickets are on the way. The DHL guy yesterday said he spent the morning delivering tickets to Cork City!

Their emails said they would start delivery on July 1st and all tickets will be delivered by the end of August.

I haven't received any tickets yet but I've been hit with 3 separate delivery charges @ £15 each. That's over 60 quid in delivery charges and they won't even deliver to my work has to be to the house.

Mailed them about it but no response yet.

Got a mail back from them, no mistake has been made here.
    Thanks for getting in touch.

I'm sorry for any confusion. All tickets purchased in separate transactions after July 27th will incur a separate delivery fee and will be delivered separately.

If you still haven't received the tickets or a card from DHL 14 days before your first match, please let us know and we'll help you track them down.

So I'll get 3 different deliveries, presumably on different days, there will be no one home, so I'll have to arrange to be at home on those days and pay £45 just for the delivery charge, even though 2 of those transactions were from the same day.

The delivery fees are already included in what you've paid.

Just get onto DHL and tell them to deliver them to your workplace of a friend/family's home, or else you can collect them at DHL office.

Still seems ridiculous that tickets ordered on the same day can't be sent out together, and also that you can't get them sent to anywhere other than your billing address.

£15 is really excessive anyway, never mind having to pay it 3 times.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,292 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

I'm getting my tickets sent to my workplace though I can't remember whether I just lied about my billing address and it just worked anyway.

Lads, for the France weekend would you stay in Swansea, Neath or Port Talbot?

Considering cost/ease of train service, cost of taxi if late out of Cardiff and general craic if you got stuck there for pints!
    Cheers.

Booked flights to Cardiff last night, coinciding with Canada game. Fly out Thursday, back the Monday, €105. Not too bad. Cancelled a reservation on booking.com for a place in Barry, I see it is back up fir €64 for night of the game only. Have alternative accommodation booked in anyway. Will probably get tickets for the game on the day too, assuming Cat D is still available then. Can't see them not being available either. Looking forward to return to Cardiff.

    Thank you whoever mentioned Airbnb!

    At those prices?

  • Registered Users Posts: 106 ✭✭homecouldbhere

Yeah I just filled my boots there with tickets in the last hour.
Bought over and above what I need, but fully sure that I have enough friends who are in the "maybe I'll go...if I get tickets" category to know that I'll find homes for every ticket.

I assume this is all happening because of their anti-tout approach of drip feeding ticket supply to the masses.
I must say though I feel like a right tit now when I look back at last November, and when I panic-bought a CAT A ticket for the french game, and here I am on the 3rd of August picking up 2 CAT C tickets side by side! (Funnily though had to go back in to get the 2nd as it wouldn't let me get 2 at once, and then they turn out to be side by side! Means however; I have to pay the £15 delivery fee twice!!! Conspiracy!!!!!!!! )

Even £50 for the Canada game. And they're the cheapest tickets. They've made a meal out of it trying to fleece fans. France v Canada is cheaper too. I think a large part of the problem is the exchange rate too though, but £30 is more than enough for these tickets.

My god, 125 sterling is nearly €180 at the current rate. Lunacy.

The prices in STG£ are bad enough but the current exchange rate doesn't help either.

We won't know for another 6 weeks whether the pricing was correct or not, if they sell out 95%+ of tickets for a match then they've probably nailed it perfectly. Still currently being stuck with the last 1000 or so isn't a major thing. Ironically if everything was sold now and nothing was easily available then it would be a sign that they'd fcuked it up completely.

Loads of tickets up for quarter and semis lads and lasses. I just bagged myself a CAT D for SF2 (£125) and a CAT C for the final (£315). And now I've decided to beg borrow or steal but I'm going to that final regardless.

8 years before I'll get another chance...just as well it's very windy coz I've a lot of caution to throw around!

So tempted to pick up a CAT C semi ticket............

    Currently got:
    CAT D V France £50
CAT C V QF Winner Ireland Group £150
CAT D V QF Runner Up Ireland Group £95

    £295 plus £30 pnp equals a cool £325.

Do not want to know what that is in € for the three games!
