Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have a cracked rear alloy and need a replacement.

Have been onto BMW, had a run out test etc and they are now telling me it's 1mm outside of tolerance (their limit in the run out test is 2mm, wheel is showing 3mm), unbelievable.

Dealer is asking for mad money to replace and I'd rather not go the welding route so does anyone know the best place to source one?

my cousin had a cracked alloy on her car and bought a new one of merc for 450 or something like that, cracked 2 of them again.....told her to get them welded a local man did it. 6 months later she went back to the main dealer and he said they are fine just come back in 3 months to check them again and she does a serious amount of milage on them........so get it welded. in the meantime you can be on the look out in breaker yards. post a pic up of it, il check my local breaker when im up next.

Is it the 19" rim off a 3 Series?

Weren't BMW doing them under warranty a while ago?

They sure do but only if the wheel is within tolerance of 2mm, mine is 3mm so they won't lift a finger.

    19" alloy from a 320i.

Agree with above, tis getting welded today and I'll post up a pic and search for a replacement.

So, they measure the runout to find out it's not running true, and they won't replace it because it's TOO 'not-true' ? Unbelievable. Or not, actually.......

That and the other comment about the lady above with the Merc just goes to show: this is No Country for 19" rims.

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

No they were not. I had these under mine and my 2 rear wheels cracked. I was given a quote of 1800 for 2 new tyres and 2 new alloys. The cheapest option was to get a set of "18 wheels on Ebay in the UK.

BMW look at warranty/goodwill claims on a case by case basis.
