Think there was some sort of balls up with the rights, and Setanta and Channel 5 were going for the rights, but not sure who has the rights?

I am sure it is not that retarded, it is a concise way of differentiating two teams which often get mixed up in my opinion.
What I find retarded is the amount of people who have picked me up on it regardless of wether they agree or disagree with the term.

AC Milan V Internazionale would also have worked without any confusion whatsoever. Their actual names. Now what could cause confusion is completely misspelling a teams name to the point where someone needs to pronounce it to be sure of who its referencing.

Rubbish! No reason you could not have just written Milan vs Internazionale, or AC Milan vs Internazionale, would have worked just as well, no confusion, and no need to a liitle child over it.
