Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

With all the pomp and ceremony Ireland's Memorial Records has been launched by our gallant leaders, with Google and In Flanders Fields Museum.

    http://imr.inflandersfields.be/search.html

    A quick search for;
Tipperary casualties gives 951, actual (at the moment) stands at 1487.
Carlow casualties gives 319, actual (at the moment) stands at 561.
Clare casualties gives 416, actual (at the moment) stands at 667.
Cork casualties gives 2204, actual (at the moment) stands at 4249.
Kerry casualties gives 403, actual (at the moment) stands at 711
Kilkenny casualties gives 464, actual (at the moment) stands at 785.
King's County (Offaly) Is not in it yet for some reason but stands at 650.
Queen's County (Laois) Is not in it yet for some reason but stands at 565.
Limerick casualties gives 810, actual (at the moment) stands at 1288..
Longford casualties gives 206, actual (at the moment) stands at 321.
Roscommon casualties gives 318, actual (at the moment) stands at 518.
Waterford casualties gives 630, actual (at the moment) stands at 1134.
Westmeath casualties gives 346, actual (at the moment) stands at 725.
Wexford casualties gives 510, actual (at the moment) stands at 877.
Wicklow casualties gives 407, actual (at the moment) stands at 748.
Dublin casualties 8050 (but this included every soldier casualty of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers) gives 8050. Dublin currently being compiled stands at the moment at 8010.

Ireland's Memorial Records, compiled in 1923, was a flawed, inaccurate, database and by the looks of it, contrary to their claims, has not been corrected nor has it been updated.

    Regards.
    Tom.

    So?
So all those who should be remembered aren't being remembered.

The last Government, the last two Irish Presidents, Enda Kenny and four current ministers were informed that 2014 was coming up, IMR was incomplete with double entries, errors and omissions, but could be fixed before 2014 if properly addressed, and given a little support, Not one single reply came from any politician, and both Presidents secretaries suggested that those involved should apply for Civil Service jobs......during the ongoing embargo.

    Remembered?

I don't know any of the to remember..... Lots died, without a personal connection we are just remembering statistics.

Besides... What does the OP want done?

All the record keepers & administrators at the UK war department are long dead.... There is no one to blame, move on.

You don't but many people have relatives who died in the war and they feel these relatives should be remembered. The statistics are important and should be as accurate as possible. If you don't care about the Great War don't post in this thread, problem solved.

'What does the OP want done?' IMR is not accurate and never was. It is now given by Google, In Flanders Fields Museum and Eamon Gilmore that the men and women listed in it are the only ones that gave their lives based on a 'study' done 90 years ago. How disappointing to those relatives of the fallen who are listed in other databases, Newspapers, and updated lists. They are ignored. By cross referencing the final number and their names will be established. This has been done in the lists above and shows how inaccurate IMR is.
When it is done right it only has to be done once.
