Loved the profound parting message / selfie in the coffin. Failure to record. So some 18th century high-tech to the rescue.

I wasn't that impressed with the premiere to be honest. In the ratings I saw they lost a good chunk of their audience going into the second half hour.

It's something to watch but things can get annoying. Watching a fearless headless horseman throwing a grenade at people was just idiotic.

That was an illusion, a purgatory dream to make them think the horseman wanted to escape and they were winning.

Really enjoy this show for what it is, just fun to watch.

Really enjoyed this - it's utterly bonkers but an awful lot of fun. Not sure why people dropped out unless they had never seen the show before and didn't realise its OTT and fast pacing nature.

Once a headless horseman going nuts with automatic weapons turned up last season, I was hooked. I get enough reality on other shows. If you're going to go nuts, do it in style. I won't be truly happy until we have a horseman fully nuked up. I have high hopes for War.
Regarding the viewing figures, the opener of season two definitely relied on the viewer having see season one to realise why the realities switched midway through the episode (they were in purgatory all along, her sister not dead).

well i dunno why you would jump into a show in the season 2 premier, thats a little retarded really, everyone knows season 1 cliffhangers are always big, i was getting very pissed off that they had jumped a year, i suspected something was up, but it went on for so long i was thinking they were gonna fill it in with back story,

great to see that katrina is now out of purgatory for good, seeing as crane got abbey out with the key,

i said i was gonna drop a few shows that i wasnt really that into this season, and this was gonna be on the list, but something about just keeps me coming back, its not a must watch show, but it is one that keeps you coming back,

    The wedding industry. :pac:

I'm a bit behind with this, only up to 2.04. That was a fairly self-contained episode and we got to see Crane behind the wheel. :P

I just caught up to 2.06. Absolutely love this show. It's bananas. Just plain bananas. I'm curious to see what'll happen next week. I really distrust Parrish! :/

2.07 contains an excellent seminar on political apathy from Crane. American Idolatry indeed.

Some people just should not get pregnant and clearly Katrina is one. First kid became Horseman of War and second pregnancy was to Moloch.

Though it is funny that Katrina has been in the modern world (not as a prisoner) for less than a day and she already dresses in a more modern style than Crane.

The Sleepy Hollow mid season finale was predictably excellent. Did a nice job tying the main threads of the season together. Plus a cliff hanger on par with the end of last season.
I'd say Henry killed Moloch so that he can take over the world himself.

Feck's sake, Universal didn't show the midseason finale. They stopped an episode short!

2.10 was not in any way riffing on Indiana Jones, no sir.

Awesome ending to this weeks episode I hope they stay here for a while.

I'm thinking / hoping they will. It was beginning to run out of steam with villain of the week crap set in modern times. Lets see how she handles a world that can't be solved with a smartphone and a quick google....ie. anything pre-1990s for those of you young 'uns.

I've stayed away since the winter finale. Worth catching up, then?

Sure...its gone dafter if that were possible. Still no sign of any of the leads taking it seriously which is a great sign.
It's going a bit like Doctor Who used to be before they let sane people spoil the fun.

So last Monday was the finale, and most loose ends were tied off. If that was to be the last ever episode, it went out on a terrific high.

The 'slide to unlock' visual gag still makes me smile when I think about it. :)

Very interested to see where they're going to go (assuming it's renewed) considering they wrapped up most of the main stories.

Ichabod trying to work the phone was hilarious. They really just reseted the show back to what it was like in season 1. I feel that the ending was more of a result of Fox wanting to turn the show into a Monster of the week type of show. It hasn't been renewed yet but if it does I think it could be the last.

Just got picked up for a third season. Will be an 18 episode run and the new showrunner is The Glades' Clifton Campbell

Excellent. I can joust with the highbrow lads on the Film forum until the steaks come home but nothing beats talented actors taking the piss out of a silly script. Slide to Unlock......Chaplin would have wept tears at that one.

I was advised to watch the final 3 episodes, which I've done. How did Capt Irving get out of the psychiatric hospital? Supernatural mojo?

Still undecided whether to return to this next season. Second season felt like a chore to watch at times.

The Bones crossover episode is going to be hard one to work I think maybe they will have Crane visit the Smithsonian in search of something and then he meets Brennan and Booth.

Look forward to being surprised on how the get the two universes to cross over.

Peter Weller directed 3.01. I'll miss John Noble because he's John Noble, wasn't terribly into the Moloch storyline.

    Ratings seem down.

Sorta binge watched this recently, including the first episode of the third season. I couldn't believe the downward curve in quality during season ; to the point where season 1 felt like a happy accident, that nobody really knew what they were doing and just fluked a brilliantly fun show first time around. The terrible, terrible new characters, the headless horseman turned into a whiny jilted lover, and as for the 'character' of Catriona. Jesus. Not even the sheer power of John Noble could save it.

In many ways then, the Season 3 opener felt like a blank slate: a chance to ditch elements that weren't working (Hawley, Captain Irving, the horseman), but there was something weirdly flat about it all. Didn't seem to have half the breathless pacing and excitement of season 1.

3.03 was fairly routine and unimaginative. Still, they got Crane to mention a Flintlock pistol, so I'll give them a point for that.

trailer for next weeks Bones/ Sleepy Hollow 2 hour crossover event

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 36,711 CMod ✭✭✭✭pixelburp

I know absolutely nothing about Bones, beyond that it stars Buffy's Angel and Zooey Deschanel's sister; I had thought it was just AN Other procedural crime drama, wouldn't have thought it a match for the Sleepy Hollow world.

  • Registered Users Posts: 125 ✭✭sanna

I used to love Bones, but as I had read majority of Kathy Reichs books went rapidly off it, so I really dont see how this crossover will work?

    Great mid season finale

Yep, they really built up to a great cliffhanger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,513 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

So is Abbie really dead (has Nicole left the show?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,535 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Back tonight. I suspect the next couple of episodes will be about finding Abbie....

It's just getting sillier all the time. I would not be upset if it was cancelled

This season has been great so far. Friday's episode had some nice surprises. Some really sub-par special effects in places, though - particularly at the end.

Yeah, I know they are going to MacGuffin the sh*t out of the Hidden One with Pandora's box in the finale, but it's still an entertaining show.

No word on a renewal yet, so hopefully they end the season cleanly without any big cliffhangers.
