Thermostat issue/downstairs rads

Oil central heating & got two thermostats for controlling the upstairs and downstairs rads. As we had the fire on downstairs earlier in the week so I turned the downstairs thermostat to zero but left the upstairs one on full to heat the bedrooms.

The problem now is that only the upstairs rads are heating even when the downstairs thermostat is on. Checked to see if downstairs rads were air locked but that's not the case.

    Any ideas...?

Thermostat could be connected to a motorised valve, check that it is working properly. This is located in your hotpress. Slide the manual leaver on the motorised valve to open. If there is a resistance, the valve is not opening. This could indicate a burnt-out motor.

You could try blowing over the stat also. Some times dust can cause bad contacts in the stat. Happens to mine from time to time.
