Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What disturbs me is that I can't tell if the following video is a piss take or not... maybe it should be in the hazards thread... Poe's Law strikes again

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvVAV09-dQ8

I didn't embed the video becasue frankly ... it's painful... I'm pretty sure it's meant to be a joke ...

    That is absolutely priceless.

"I had two friends over, one normal, one Indian..."

It just gets better from there. So..much..better...

Here's a few comments people left on her page:
I hate everything that you are
you are everything that is wrong with america. please tell me this is fake.

She seems too young and they all seem too shy on the camera for this to be a troll.

EDIT: Hmm, that rice thing at the end seemed a little forced, I'm leaning towards it being a troll.

But, that doesn't necessarily tell us anything! Granted, I think it's probably a hint towards it being satire but still. I can clearly imagine a sanctimonious Christian stating something like that with absolute honesty.

Yeah, ok...one of the tags is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Fielding

Ah that's definitely fake. It's so staged. "It's like an African country in Asia. Do you feel African or Asian."

    Nah.

And if you think the characters are unbelievable - just wait for the plot twists. For about 90% of the book the main character is a homocidal, racist meglomaniac, guiding his "chosen people" through endless slaughters of opposing tribes, and of each other when people don't obey his "rules". Think Patrick Bateman on crack. Then, with only a New testament to go, and just as I was enjoying the action - suddenly he becomes all touchy feely! Why oh why writers feel they *have* to put in implausible plot twists, I just don't know! And please, don't get me started on the end - when it goes all Stanley Kubrick! Sure, I understand it's fantasy as a genre - but come on, does it have to go against so much mainstream science?

I took it to be a neck warmer, I had assumed it was a reference to the fierce cold that followed the meteor impact that killed the dinosaurs until I remembered that they actually were wiped out in the great flood 3000 years ago.

Pfft here you are just showing typical evil atheist ignorance... The flood was 4000 years ago not 3000 and they were taken onto the ark but then died in the ice age that followed the flood... Except for the ones that didn't like rhinocerous, the Loch Ness monster, and many others...(Rhinocerous, is just a missspelling of Rhinosaurus, that's a clear clue! Why would Adam name it that if it wasn't a dinosaur)

I could go on but shockingly am worried that somepeople wouldn't get that I wasn't serious. (funny or not is another matter...)

In all seriousness (yes, wrong thread I know :p), the jolly old T.Rex is probably intentional, certain creationists are trying to put it forward against all scientific evidence to the contrary (what?! never!) that T. Rex was a herbivore.
Most geologists would say humans and dinosaurs were separated by more than 60 million years. And those dinosaurs have very sharp teeth!
"So do bears", says Ken, "but they eat nuts and berries! Remember, before the sin of Adam, the world was perfect. All creatures were vegetarian."

Grizzly Bear skull - has some sharp teeth for eating flesh and other flat teeth for eating vegetation. Omnivore:
    Alaska%20Grizzly%20Bear%20Skull.jpg

Tyrannosaurus rex skull - has sharp teeth suitable for eating flesh, but not suitable for eating vegetation. Carnivore:

An ecosystem with no carnivores to cull the herbivores would result in their numbers increasing to the point where they ran out of food and died a slow death of starvation.

    WTF!

Much as I love stuff like Resident Evil and Dawn of the Dead that just looks awful. The whole God/Angel element just doesn't make any sense - it's a like a Saturday Night Live skit.

At least Dogma's gun toting angels didn't take themselves so seriously.
