Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bike on a train.

    Hi, I was just wondering am I allowed to bring a bike onto a train?

    Depends on the train. Different rules for different services. May also depend on the time of day.

    On the DART, you can generally bring a bike between 10:00 and 15:30 Mon-Fri, and all day at weekends, but the staff always have a discretion to exclude bikes, which they will do if the train is crowded, e.g. serving a sports event or a concert or just abnormally busy. You travel with your bike, and make sure it does not cause obstruction or inconvenience. There is no charge for the bike.

    On intercity services, you can generally bring a bike, and there is a separate storage area for bikes. Space is limited, but you can reserve a space in advance. There is a six euro charge.

    On intercity, space depends whether you have a railcar which has rather limited accomodation or a loco hauled train that has a fairly large van you can use.

    The railcar bike racks are also a dumping ground for luggage at times.
