Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi everyone,

As the title says, my 96 corsa won't start and was just looking for some help.
I don't know a whole pile about cars but I'm fairly certain that it's just some ****e stuck in the carburetor blocking the fuel from entering it. There's no fuel filter on the line I think, and probably a fair amount of gunk in the tank so I think thats the cause. I drove it up to the shop yesterday no bother but it wouldn't start afterwards. Its currently stuck in a free carpark and I'm planning on opening it up tomorrow to have a look. I'll have to walk up so I was just wondering what tools I need to bring and what I need to do.

    Thanks.

Your car doesn't have a carburettor. Did you run it low on petrol? If not then its unlikely that any dirt in the tank would suddenly get sucked up.

You need to check if the fuel pump is running and supplying fuel to the engine, then check that the spark plugs are firing.
