Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wow. Your right.

Not a single item there that would be considered healthy.

More like a promotion for obesity .

Just because there on offer doesnt mean you have to buy them

Yes, but you have to set it against the big increases in excise duty over the last couple of budgets. 8 for €12 is the new 8 for €10!

The slabs for €23 before Christmas were a steal by comparison. I stocked up on them to see me through the Rugby, Cheltenham, Champions League etc - will run out well before the World Cup.

Usual tax excuse tbh. The prices will get close to a quid a can again, supermarkets just don't think the increased sales this time of year is worth the price cuts. They also like to put in people's heads that items are worth far more than they actually are.

As opposed to starving yourself and only eating greens. Can envisage people sitting with their overcoats on in freezing rooms, afraid to put on the heat as it's expensive, waiting for death.:pac:

Gotta love some the posters here complaining about the health effects of junk food deals. looking at some of their history i can see positive posts about alcohol deals. The words, pot kettle black come to mind.

Yes. The key is moderation. Junk foods can be very nice once a week.

There seems to be a lot of people in denial about their diets on here. This processed food is muck, plain and simple. However a couple of times a month we eat it as it's convenient. I also love a few beers now and again and the odd takeaway. The rest of time we make every effort to cook proper food even when completely knackered. I definitely would avoid giving this processed stodge to our kids on any regular basis. This stuff is barely food so see it for what it is. That's a fact no can argue with. This stuff as the exception is relatively harmless, as a diet, it's very damaging.
Nothing in excess, but I never heard of people been told to cut back on the carrots and french beans...

I was in my local Dunnes earlier and there are a lot more people milling around the shop than at the same time on other mornings because of these offers. I usually wander it to my local Dunnes (five minute walk) circa 1130 or so whenever I'm getting something.
