Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

Can you help me. The radiator in the kitchen is really hot when you touch it but it gives out no heat.
The wall has pumped insulation and the ceiling has double layer of attic insulation.

Should I replace the radiator ?
Did anyone have this problem before ?

    Thanks

Does the rad have fins between the panels? Are these hot? Try increasing the water temperature a little. Check one of the taps isn't closed off too much either.

Is there a draft, it doesn't take much to extract the heat from an open area.

Does the radiator have a clearance of 6 inches from floor level?

If the rad has a cold spot in the centre it's blocked with sludge.

As jca posted, feel the bottom centre of the radiator when the system is hot. If this part of the radiator is cold but the top is hot, it could may well be sludged.
