BTE level 8 to level 8

Hi I am on jobseekers and applying for BTE I have a level 8 in applied IT and I am doing a specialised level 8 course that Intreo supposrt in SW development. Anyone know if I can get BTE even though I am getting social payments now? Thanks for any feedback
