This is extremely good from 'Portsmouth Bubblejet' on Fantasy Football Scout:

    http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2015/06/18/the-numbers-game-201415-review-leicester/
Just like last year, I've designed a home/away FPL fixture rotation spreadsheet for each club for the new 2015-16 season. It doesn't take degree of difficulty for each match into account, and should therefore be used in combination with the FFS season ticker. The Dropbox link is below if you wish to download it.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/uw0u12pfy53hqca/FPL%20Home%20Away%20Rotation%202015-16.xlsx?dl=0

Unlike many European leagues, where the fixtures are divided into 2 equal halves which are reversed after the winter break, the Premier League fixture compilers have stuck to their usual practice of splitting the calendar into a number of short rotational blocks.

During each block, the 20 clubs are split into two groups of ten teams – let’s call them Group A and Group B. For the duration of the fixture block, teams from Group A will always play against a team from Group B, but never against another team from Group A. When a new rotational block starts, the two groups are mixed up, so that each club gets the opportunity to play all 19 others home and away.

    In 2015-16, there are 10 fixture blocks of varying length. They take place in gameweeks 1-2, 3-6, 7-8, 9-13, 14-17, 18-25, 26-27, 28-32, 33-34 and 35-38.

It is therefore the lengthiest blocks (GW 18-25) that will allow us to set up some potentially fruitful team rotations.

The inclusion of rotation blocks of odd-numbered length (GW 9-13 & GW 28-32) means that some teams have a distinct imbalance in the number of home and away matches around this period. In other words:

    – Man City & Crystal Palace play 5 out of 7 matches at home between GW 8 & GW 14

    – Man United & Stoke play 5 out of 7 matches away between GW 8 & GW 14

    – Liverpool & West Ham play 5 out of 7 matches at home in gameweeks 27-33

    – Chelsea & Everton play 5 out of 7 matches away in gameweeks 27-33

Each club has one team with whom they always rotate. Some pairs are allocated due to close geographical proximity, which might cause policing problems, but others are allocated in order to avoid clashes in other tiers of the English football pyramid.

Here are the main home/away rotational patterns for each Premier League club.

    Arsenal
Perfect H/A rotation: Tottenham (38 games)
Good: Man City (34), Southampton (30), Liverpool (28)

My defence I reckon will be:

    WBA, WBA
    WBA, Swansea, Leicester, Sunderland, Saints/Stoke.

I'm all for cheap but would like to have one Premium side (probably Chelsea) in there with the 5th def being a 4m who will rarely play. Will depend on what that 2m+ could do elsewhere.

    Ideally I'd be looking at

    WBA, WBA
WBA, Sunderland, Saints, Chelsea, 4m playing bench fodder.

Saw a tweet earlier, NOR/SOU rotation: CRY, EVE, STK, NOR, BOU, MUN, SWA, LEI, LEI, WBA, BOU, sun, STK, ARS, ASV, cry, TOT, whu.

Southampton defs will be far from cheap this year 5.5 I'd say. I'll be steering clear especially that they have Europa league aswell.

I'll be going with the west brom keepers aswell.

I'm undecided if I'll have Ivanovic in my gw1 team though. If Chelsea play like the did at the start of last season it would be a no brainer as he could easily repeat his goalscoring record.
If they play tight though he probably won't be worth the money. Hopefully the community shield gives us an idea of how they will play.

It's a cracking rotation but the only thing is, for the price that Southampton defenders are going to be, you can't really afford to have one tied up on your bench every 2nd week.

Ivanovic goes through a patch every season where he'll get a few goals/assists in 4 or 5 games. Two years ago I managed to get him in for it (was around end of January/February) but last season I missed it.

The key is getting him during that purple patch.

Re Norwich, I'll be keeping an eye on another former Blackburn stalwart, Martin Olsson. The only thing is Norwich were brutal for clean sheets two seasons ago in the PL and have largely the same defence.

I fancy some defenders from top 4 sides. Currently I'm thinking Bellerin & Smalling, both should come in around 5.5. After that cheap and cheerful, should be plenty of options to choose from, keeper strategy I'm not sure tho!

Sunderland and Stoke rotate perfectly for 8 of the first 10 weeks.

I know Stoke aren't great in terms of fantasy football at the back, but a few of us had a bit of success with the Swansea/Stoke similar rotation at the beginning of last year (well, it was almost all Swansea, but the excellent rotation helped to make my decision to go for them :pac:) so hopefully this rotation might have a similar impact. It was a bit of a nightmare predicting who would start in the Stoke back 4 but should be easier this year.

The rotation gives the following fixtures for the first few weeks:

LIV/lei, NOR, SWA, WBA, TOT, LEI, BOUR, WHU, wba/swa, WATF/NEW

They start to clash a bit in terms of both having home/away games a lot more after that for a while, but if we can get a Stoke defender in for £4.5m that's a pretty tasty and cheap rotation to start off with while we see how things develop and would go along way to allowing a premium defender (i.e. Chelsea).

I'm almost convinced Pantilimon will be priced at £5m so with that in mind hopefully Foster will be £4.5m. That'd 1) make my choice between Sunderland and West Brom GK's much easier and 2) ensure that GK can be sorted out with £9m. If that happens, I'm looking at the following:

Foster/Myhill (or any £4m if Myhill is £4.5m)

    Chelsea/WBA/Sunderland/Stoke/Bournemouth or Norwich

My WBA/Sunderland/Stoke defenders will all be £4.5m or if not I'll look elsewhere. I know Bournemouth or Norwich aren't likely to keep clean sheets but as a 5th defender they look alright considering the fixtures. We'll hopefully sneak a £4m out of Bournemouth though which would swing it. So that's a GK and full defence for around £33m presumably.

Why do we think that all the West Brom defenders from last season won't be priced at 5m? Do they only take the full season stats etc into account.
Brunt will surely be classified as a defender now as well right?? He'll be value even at 5.5m

I think all the starters will be 5m, including Myhill unless Foster is less than a month from recovery. Brunt didn't play in defence the last month of the season though, Olsson came in to the back four.

Yeah can't see Foster being 4.5

I wonder will there be any 4m starters this year. Very very few last season at the start. Duff, Hutton and for a while Moore are all i can remember.

Wisdom as well. We might get lucky with a 4m loan signing again, maybe Yedlin at Spurs

Was looking at those odds, found it strange that they only had English clubs in the market.

Cech to Arsenal is done per the Mail and others, £11m the reported fee.

    Bournemouth have signed Distin.

Will Forster make the the start of the season? Stekelenburg could be an option if he misses a few games.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I think Forster is supposed to be out until 2016

maybe he's instructed his agent he only wants to play in the PL. Saints def's are likely to be pricey this time round in fpl, if Alder isn't with them any more, and Clyne set to leave too, i may well steer clear starting off

As a United fan hopefully at decent prices.

Herrera scored 6 league goals this season the majority in the second half of the season when made first choice. He is very clinical when he gets a chance. Depending on signings he should be first choice and hopefully around 6.5.

Smalling was brilliant last season and is first choice for United next season he also had a purple patch scoring a few goals in a row and scored 4 league goals last season. If he comes in around 5.5 he could be decent value.

Henderson's return for Liverpool was very good last season also and he should be on penalties and probably free kicks next season and hopefully around 7.0 he could be value.

Nice article from www.fantasyfootballgeek, a good little blog site I've mentioned before and was the first decent FPL resource I found this time two years ago.

    http://www.fantasyfootballgeek.co.uk/fantasy-premier-league-strategy-review/

A good overview on the basic principles of strategy approaches to the FPL game if you're a newbie, or even an oldie. Agree with most of his points, although I'm partial to a hit and am a confirmed team value hound. But I'll be playing my captain much more conservatively this year, some daft punts last season.....Balotelli, Jovetic, fupping Adebayor.!!! Not to mention the biggest most useless Italian of questionable parentage...uuggghh.

Was happy to leave you to go solo on that one. :)

Our Jovetic collaboration didn't bode well.

Pelle and Adebayor stick in my mind much more and did a hell of a lot more damage than not captaining PVA!

FPL Discovery has some reviews of the season up if anyone wants to go deep inside the stats. The one guy that didn't own Kane at all is an Arsenal supporter that has a rule not to pick Spurs. Just imagine where he would be if he did and how badly he got stung during Bale's heyday :pac:

    Firmino signs for Liverpool.

Hopefully he is down as a midfielder as he could become a good OOP option then. I've been watching him in the Copa and he's looked dangerous.
