I'm looking for some suggestions for all of Ireland really. Just bought a camper this year and did Cork and Kerry coast last week, was fab. We love the coast and ideally would love to be parked right on shore where ever we land we have a dog so like good proximity to beaches to allow us all to stretch the legs! Campsites or free parking. We'd prefer smaller quieter campsites. Dowlings in Glengarrif was lovely defo re-visit that one! Also parked up on the beach in Waterville too which was paradise!
Is it true that some marina's offer electric hook up for campers?
    Any tips/advice really appreciated.rolleyes.gif

this is Ireland ...almost every campsite by the sea is going to be pretty spectacular.:D

A personal favourite is Renvyle Beach, Connemara

Tramore beach in Rossbeg, Donegal used to be nice ..but they don't allow dogs anymore

Would have to give the local campsite in Strandhill, Sligo a plug as well

Mullaghmore in Sligo is a lovely spot as are strandhill, rosses point & aughris. Theres no campsite in Mullaghmore but there would be no bother wildcamping there.

    Come to the Northwest...it's fab:D

Rosses Point & Mullaghmore, beautiful as they are, aren't the most dog friendly spots though.

Was at rosses point two weeks ago and I reckon every single ni reg camper and caravan had a dog was very surprised.

On the road up from Inch Beach to Anauscaul there are some spectaular views from parking/viewing bays on the roadside.

As a general point - are the "No overnight camping" notices you see everywhere, particularly beach carparks, ever enforced?

In Dingle a few weeks back a local bar landlord told me not worry about parking overnight on the harbour car/coach pay and display park as the attendant doesn't appear until after 11 in the morning, and he was right.

Scenic Campervan Parking Suggestions - Another great one is Clifden eco Beach Campsite & Caravan Park (Acton's) in Connemara near Omey Island ten minutes from Clifden Town center.
Located right on a beach with exceptional seascape views, also you will not have someone camping beside you as the plots are semi private.

Silver Strand Beach near Slieve League in South West Donegal is a beautiful spot- we were up there last weekend for Easter.

Also Whitepoint Moorings in Cobh is the other extreme- right in the centre of things.
