Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I've heard that it's possible to bolt on a 1.6 diesel turbo/manifold etc with a little modification for a decent increase in power? I can't seem to find any links to it, just people saying it has been done.

If not, is it possible to retrofit Ti-VCT to a non-Ti-VCT engine? What are the differences/similarities? Are there more differences than just the top end and ECU?

    Thanks,

    Dan

One more thing, has anyone ported a stock engine and run it on a dyno after?

This might be a good read up on zetec tuning. It's not impossible and I've read about it being done on various fourms. Most use a puma 1.7 top end as it uses the ti-vct and bolts straight on.

Thanks, just finished reading through that actually!

So what would a ported puma top end give out power/torque wise?

OP, Burton Power are another good place to start. They have tuning guides that go from basic upgrades to massive power builds.

The Turbosport article is a fraction old. For example, they mention BPJ for tuning but as far as I know its no longer in business. That being said, BPJ do (or did) excellent work and I've one of his fast road/high torque heads, steel rocker posts and matching custom cam in a crossflow.

Ever follow up on this? I ran/will be running a 1400 in the rally car, piper cams, diy port and Polish, diy bike throttle body conversion with fiesta 4 branch, and sparks from a motec ecu. With a fault in the ecu I had just under 150 bhp. Standard valves and pistons and rods.
