Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all, this is my first ever thread so i'm not sure if I put it in the right place..
I have an Asus F551MA laptop with
    Wireless Lan: WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Network Card: 10/100/1000 Gigabit Fast Ethernet

When my laptop is connected directly to the Thomson TWG870 router provided by UPC, the speedtest result on UPC Speedtest is dowload speed: 78mbps upload speed: 20mbps
However, when I do the speedtest when the laptop is connected to wifi, and in the same room as the modem, the results are:
    Download Speed: 4.03mbps (4026 kbps (503.3 KB/sec transfer rate) )
    Upload Speed: 16.69mpbs (16690 kbps (2086.3 KB/sec transfer rate) )
    Latency: 11 ms
    Jitter: 4 ms

Can anyone explain why this would be?? It's not even near the 200mb mark, i'd be happy if I could even reach 80mbps over wifi..

UPDATE, I did the test a few more times and got this:
Download Speed: 48297 kbps (6037.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 20712 kbps (2589 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Latency: 8 ms
    Jitter: 1 ms

Speeds of 78 would be spot on for expected 100 base connections, but you seem to have a gigabit card. Are you sure you're connected at gigabit speeds? older network cables will force the card to use this lower speed.

dp start>run or start and type into the search pane and hit enter ncpa.cpl
In the network adapter page double click on your Local area connection and in the status window you will see speed.

WiFi is effected by interference and distance. Test it beside the router. Make sure its all on Wifi N and you've nothing else connected to it.

My WiFi is getting worse I expected its all the other WiFi networks around.

I use a power line adapter when I need consistent speeds
