Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi all just looking to see if anyone would have any advice on a problem that I have. My 2008 Mondeo passenger seatbelt warning light and tone seems to have developed a fault. If someone if sitting in the passenger seat it goes off constantly despite the seatbelt being closed. This fault just happened overnight. What could the problem be? Has it happened to anyone else? And would anyone know if it would be a big job to fix?

It's usually the seatbelt receiver itself that is at fault.

Replacing that part will fix the problem.

Or alternatively you can disconnect it to disable the warning, realistically practically everybody wears their seatbelt these days and doesn't rely on a warning system to remind them IMO.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Would you know would it have any repercussions NCT wise if it was disconnected? I had googled how to turn off the warnings but didn't want to do it incase it would show up at the NCT.

It has no bearing on the NCT at all.

There is some sequence to disable the belt warning on the mondeo.
Its just a couple of ignition cycles and drivers belt on and off a few times.

Yes I think that is what the OP was referring to.

The problem is that (unlike this situation) usually it is the drivers seatbelt receiver that develops an issue so that procedure won't work.

So locating the relevant plug under the seat and disconnecting it does the job in those cases.
