Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    just wondering how to connect up my hkc pir it has 7 connections

    2 for power , 2 for alarm , 2 for tamper and 1 for data

    where to they go on panel

    hi gavel,

    what alarm panel are you using ?

    if you're not using any resistors, wire it as follows;

    12v + on the PIR to the 12v + on panel
    12v - on the PIR to the 12v - on panel
    the two saying alarm on the PIR to a zone on the panel
    the two saying tamper on the PIR to the tamper zone next to the alarm zone you picked on the panel

    its a hkc sw 1070 panel

    i have an 8 core cable in location

    on the power. does it go to aux 12v or just 12v ?

    on the alarm and tamper. do i need resistors ?

    and really the main question what do you do with the data connection ?

    You don't have to use them, but the resistors do make each zone more secure if someone was ever to get a chance to fiddle with the cables.

    also if using resistors (EOL - End of Line) reduces the amount of cores you need for each device.

    Using the data terminal allows you to ID each device on a zone. Zones 5 to 8 are ID zones. normally you'd wire 1 PIR to a zone but with ID zones you can have up to 10 PIRS on 1 zone.
