Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Am about to buy a composite door, 1,500euro, but would much prefer a natural wood finish with the insulation and security of composite door. Does such a door exist? Hoping to hear your wisdom!:)

No, that's it plain and simple wood will always change, crack, swell and need looking after no matter what any company tell you it is natural so no one can predict what will happen to it no matter how much it is treated, and now with the weather we are getting do your self a favor and keep away from the wood.
people will differ just my opinion of 25 years or so

    Hi,

We got a composite door a few months ago. Very neat and excellent door an Apeer70. Triple glazing as standard, good security features, also good selection to choose from.
Company is in Clane, but do travel, very good prices too. Some other people have got doors off of them based on what they saw with our door. So PM if you need there name and details. Get at least three different quotes and see the product in question.

IMO steel door and frames the only way to go these days

I put in an apeer door, would not recommend, poor seals. No spags, just hooks. Overpriced - my plain pvc rear door is far better. The front door is south facing and it warps. Inner gasket not good either.

just had a composite door installed by Grady Joinery. Very happy with it. Very solid, well sealed, painted with a nice wood grain. e1200
