Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To put it simply and short; can a company use up your holidays if they close for a week or 2 at Christmas?

Yes, it's comon for companies to have compulsary holiday dates.
christmas would be an example or a factory shutdown for 2 weeks in the summer would be another, employees would have no choice but to use their holidays at that time..

Thanks for the quick answer. Kind of annoying but what can you do. Was trying to carry over some days to next year. Oh well.

I know someone who hadn't used up any days coming close to the end of the year despite being told to book a few weeks off.
In the end she was given random days to take off over the course of a few months leading up to year end.. for example, Tuesday and Thursday one week!

Your employer must give you 20 days approx. 2 weeks must be together if you want them to be. The employer cannot force you to carry days forward to next year and if you are permitted to carry them forward your employer must force you to take them within 6 months.
