Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

superdrive not writing cds

I'm trying to backup some jpeg pictures on my 5 month old mac mini but having some problems.

I've copied them to my "burn folder", stuck in a blank cd (verbatim cd-r) & clicked burn. The mouse pointer spins for ages, the drive makes a louder noise than usual & then it appears to burn. There's nothing on the cd afterwards though.

I'm supposed to be meeting a boards member this evening to sell it to him (trading up to a powerbook for work) so I'm kinda hoping this isn't a sign of a faulty drive/ logic board. I've tried restarting & using another blank cd but I'm getting the same problem. Any suggestions?

(I'm going out to buy a blank dvd to test it...)

Thankfully the problem appears to be the cds themselves.

Sounds like you're burning in simulation mode. Turn that off and you should be flying.
