Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been reading a bit about the different tolls tags and would love some help deciding. I travel from Galway to Enfield maybe twice a month. That's 1.90 in ballinasloe and 2.90 in Enfield plus the same return. 9.60 total for both ways. I use the m50 rarely maybe 3 or 4 times in the year. Is it worth getting a tag? Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I wouldn't get one for that amount of travel especially when you can avoid the Enfield one. There is a thread on here somewhere about the tags, a few different ones are mentioned, have a look.

TL DR; getting a tag is paying a bit extra for convenience.

The main reasons (imo) for getting/using a tag are avoiding the hassle of having change on you, as well as being able to avail of the express lane.

Both the M4 & M6 offer prepay trip cards, with a 10% discount

Any tag will have a monthly fee of 1.23 or so. Any of the tags offered by companies here will allow you to use any tool road. A tag gives you €1 off per trip on the M50, no discount on other tolls. There's also a video account for the M50, giving 50 cent off.

From the travel info you've given, (2 Enfield-Galway/month, 4 M50 trips a year, return too?), having a toll would run you €7 more than cash (assuming you pay €3.10 on the M50). Using prepay for the M4 & M6 with a video account for the M50 would save you €15 over cash.

The discounts are only on the westlink toll on the M50, between the N3 & N4. There's no discount on the tunnel, between the M1 and Dublin Port.
