Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

We are 4 adults spending weekend in friend apartment for weekend. Staying in chapoloiz and have parked up in the complex

We hope to go to city centre to mower.. But forgot to ask friend how to get in??

So... Any help to get in.. Lucas or bus??

How much is bus and is it still 'exact money' only?? Got thrown off a bus about 10 yrs ago when I presented a €5 note.. Nearly died if embarrassment!! So hoping to be more 'in the know' tomorrow

    67 bus 2.55 each

tbh any bus you get from chapo into town should be 2.55

I would assume you mean Chapelizod?

Any of the buses passing through Chapelizod (26, 66, 66a, 66b and 67) will bring you into the city centre.

Exact fare is still in operation.

Cash fare to O'Connell Bridge is €2.80 each way.

Coming back, these buses pick up on Westmoreland Street.

That fare is only valid to Wolfe Tone Quay from Chapelizod village or Ormond Quay from the stop by the Phoenix Park gate, and I suspect these people are travelling further.

It's €2.80 to O'Connell Bridge or Nassau Street.

Of course you do pay the correct fare yourself?

The good news is that from next week (December 1st) there will be one single cash fare to all of the city centre from Chapelizod and that will be €2.70.

    Thanks all....

Anything from Sarsfied Road side??? Just wondering

Route 40 from Sarsfield Road (and the 79/79a) from the junction with Landen Road.

Both will take you to Dame Street and Westmoreland Street while the 40 continues to O'Connell Street.

Coming back, 40 serves O'Connell Street, D'Olier Street, College Green and Dame Street, while the 79/79a will leave from Aston Quay.

Fare to city centre is €2.80 (€2.55 from the junction with Inchicore Road/Grattan Crescent).

The other routes above and the 79/79a would be the fastest.

Last query..... With 2.80 in x 4 in and same back.... Mates are saying maybe it better to drive in and park up. That way we can put bags in boot anf then go and get something to eat!!!!!

So next question for ye...... What best value on car parking that will stay open til 8pm ++++

The worry is carrying bags around and hauling them into a restaurant and watching them etc

Looking forward to going to Nandos!!!!

City centre on street car parking is close to €3 per hour with a maximum stay of 3 hours and rigorous clamping enforcement in place. It is also hard to come by close to Dublin 1 and 2, especially at this time of year. There are city centre car parks that welcome day parking but you are looking at €12-€15 for a day's stay in the main.

If you choose to use buses then look at getting a Leap Card; it allows for cheaper bus fare and for cashless boarding.

One of ye get a leap card and load it up with credit and that card can be used then for the person who buys it, plus it can be used to buy "extra" tickets for any number of other passengers.

Walk. Sure you're nearly there !

Suggesting a LEAP card is all well and good, but if it's only a one-off visit with an out and back trip it's not that practical, particularly where people are driving to/from Dublin.

The visitor card is handy if anyone is here for a few days. It's pre paid travel and can be extended. If anyone is just going into town and back once then obviously the cash fares is the way.
