Astra accelerator sensor fault

Hi guys, have a prob with the sensor light for engine fault coming on and car going into home mode. Got it wiped by a mechanic on Xmas eve and the connections to the sensor cleaned so so far so good however wary about the next time! Any suggestions?

What fault codes did your mechanic pull before he erased them, and what electrical connection did he check? This will help to answer your question.
