Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not sure you can fix it easily without a vista dvd.

With the dvd it is easy. Boot up and there's a repair utility that will fix this error.

There may be a hidden partition on your laptop with a repair tool. Try F11 when you start the laptop.

If its still in warranty the company Will issue a free DVD for cases like this. They dont give them out defacto to save costs: theyre only given out when you are otherwise unable to recover without it - but you are entitled to one if you are in warranty. Get on the horn with them over the phone or online.

The bootmgr file usually exists as an 'ini' file in the root directory of the C-drive. So, your son probably deleted this inadvertently (or am I just thinking of boot.ini )

Anyway, I'm surprised that you weren't given the vista DVD. I'd advise that you get a loan of one of a family friend / relative and use that.
