Having Garage insurance and car insurance at same time.

Hi all, This is my first time posting. I will have my Provisional in a few weeks and need some help. I want to get the Aviva deal on my dads car but the problem is he has garage insurance and is covered to drive anything. Is there anything I can do to get the deal. Any help would be much appreciated :D
