Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cheapest way to transfer to English account

I need to transfer about £5,000 into a UK account.
Should I just go to the bank with the best rate or is there a cheaper way to do it?

Also, I need to transfer a few hundred pound into an Australian account.
So it'll be my euro to a pound value. How many Australian dollars is irrelevant.
Again, best way to do it?

    Thanks in advance.

https://www.currencyfair.com/ or https://transferwise.com/ is the way to go, a lot better exchange rate than what the banks will give you

I'll +1 transferwise, tried it last week for the first time and worked seemlessly. Transferred gbp to euro and saved myself over €450 compared to an international transfer via my bank.

Thanks again for the transferwise recommendation. I used it the other day to transfer a few hundred pounds and saved about €25 compared to the banks. It's also quicked than the banks, only took about two days and you get an e-mail to confirm it's in the account.

    Great service.
