Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nice one, thanks Atom. If possible or known, would be great to include the amount of Away Wins in the result... for e.g. if "A" won all 3 at home and 2 away the result would be as follows:

    Club A 5(2) Club B 1(0)

    Lisheen 5 (2) Blessington Lakes 1 (0)

Great to see Lisheen thriving on the golf course after all the shyte off it.

I know Druids heath got 2.5 points at home today. Not sure about the away scores, trying to find out now

I think it might be Druids heath 3 Kilcoole 3, but not sure if the match has to be continued

Matches don't go to extra holes in Garden, so sounds like DH got an away half at Kilcoole & 2.5 at home.

    So Druids Heath 3 (0.5) - Kilcoole 3 (0.5)?

The match didn't get finished due to weather in Kilcoole so it has to be finished

Druids heath beat arklow 4-2 yesterday

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 NancyHands

Lisheen Springs has qualified from the other half of the draw

I think Wicklow now need to beat woodenbridge 4-2 to knock Druids heath off the top

Did Kilcoole Druids Heath finish 3:3 in the end?

I'm not sure, might have been 3.5 - 2.5 to Druids, waiting for clarification from the team manager

All comes down to today, matches begin at 2pm. Good look lads (especially woodenbridge!)

Well Matt - how did Druids Heath do today vs Kilcoole?

Wicklow won out against Woodenbridge 4.5 (1.5) 1.5 earlier toda. Should be enough to see Wicklow top???

Probably only right seeing as they are one of the only clubs to play the full quota of Away Matches.

Kilcoole v Druids Heath is being played to a finish tomorrow (Sunday) morning.
Then in the afternoon Kilcoole play Arklow, in what is effectively a dead rubber.

Oh right, thanks. I thought they [DH Kilcoole] were to finish that match today. They'd better hurry up! That match has been dragging on for weeks now :)

i think druids heath might have won all matches to be finished in kilcoole today by forfeit.not 1 member of kilcoole was present 15 mins after start time.(when druids heath team headed to the heath for sunday singles)

If that's true then it makes a mockery of the entire competition.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 NancyHands

If this is true who wins the group?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,429 ✭✭✭Mr. Larson

Druids Heath would top the group if this is true.

Wicklow finished with 15pts. Druids won their home matches against Kilcoole 2.5 to 0.5. Regarding the matches that needed to be completed... Kilcoole were 3up with 4 to play, 2up... and all square. Basically Druids Heath needed 1.5pts from the remaining matches to top the group so if Kilcoole didn't show up then they would have gotten 3pts.

Oh dear, that sounds like a curious no show, perhaps misunderstanding. Not an ideal way to finish the group.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,429 ✭✭✭Mr. Larson

I think they have been given an extension to finish the match actually as Kilcoole may have been closed, so the drama rumbles on :)

At least the matches will be finished though, so that's a good thing and whoever wins it will have earned it.

Kilcoole didn't show up for the match, the course was closed but there was noone there and no notification or call.

The tee time was at 7.50 but we heard nothing from them until 8.30.

Not too sure how it plays out but in my eyes it should be a walkover

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,429 ✭✭✭Mr. Larson

That's not great that there was no texts or notifications. There should have been some sort of communication but Id say a new date will be fixed and the matches will be finished.

It has to be played by today. Bad form, they didn't show. If that happened in the Barton it would be a walkover.

I'm especially pissed because I was dragged out of bed for it as a substitution and I was on the beer all day yesterday so I would have preferred to sleep!!

Ouch!! That's a pain in the hoop alright... Well at least you all know what you need to do now to top the group.

Course was closed in Kilcoole, matches were due to resume at 8.50 not 7.50, maybe a bit of confusion there, and as the matches were to be resumed how could you possibly be drafted in as a substitute. Surely the pairing would of had to be the same as when the match was stopped?

The matches were supposed to be replayed at 7.50, yes the course was closed and we weren't notified. Not too sure on the pairing issue.

Anyone hear how Arklow vs. Kilcoole went in the end?

    Table looks like this:

    Club Played Pts
    Wicklow 4 15 (6)
    Druids Heath 3* 13.5 (1)
    Woodenbridge 4 9.5 (2)
    Arklow 3 7 (1.5)
    Kilcoole 2* 4 (4)

*3 matches to be finished at Kilcoole Vs Druids.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 NancyHands

Obviously depending on the outcome of the Kilccole v Druids saga, any ideas where the final will be played given it has to be played on a neutral venue? I think Druids Heath was mentioned(?) for the Final so if Wicklow qualify it will be there. If Druids Heath qualify any ideas where it will be played?

Confirmed, because the dh/Kilcoole match wasn't completed it was declared a draw allowing Wicklow to go through by 1.5 points
