Last year's final finished 3 -3 so each side picked one pairing that played a three hole play-off.

Arklow closed yesterday and today but there will be a course inspection tomorrow at 8am. I'd say it's odds on it will be open. Links and all that, plus it's not that wet today really.

Wicklow won this today, congratulations to them, they had 3pts when the last 2 matches were called in, one was Dormie 2 in their favour & they were 1 up in the other, so they won well in the end.

The Garden County trophy always seem to throw up conterversy and signals the start of the golf season for the wickla lads, come on the lakes.

Found out the groups for this year's comp. Matches start this weekend for some although our mob (Bless Lakes) have their 1st match on Saturday 17th Jan, the Groups are as follow.
Blainroe, Kilcoole, Macreddin, Blessington Lakes, Lisheen Springs and Tulfarris.
Woodenbridge, Druids Heath, Coolatin, Wicklow, Arklow and Mount Wolseley
Barton cup rules, 3 home and 3 away, minimum combined 14.

Blessed Lakes v MaCreddin got called off on Saturday, now refixed towards the end of Feb. We are playing Kilcoole Golf Club in a kinda 9 hole sorta local derby next Saturday so good luck to both teams and hope the weather is kind.

Blessed lakes lost 2 1 away to Kilcoole. The 3 home matches in the lakes were cancelled due to a stubborn frost that refused to lift in time, the clubs may look at trying to get these matches played tomorrow.

Would someone from each club participating in the garden county trophy be willing to post results from their matches and let us know were they all played as their supposed to be or were all of the matches played at the 1course?druids heath have played mount wolesly:getting 2.5\6.played coolattin an got3\6.played wooden bridge an got 2\3,in wooden bridge.druids heath was frozen over and have to play the other 3matches still.does anyone know if points are even between two teams to get to the final,how is it decided who goes through?is it away points?really enjoy this competition.its always played in good spirit,not as serious as Barton cup but still great warm up for it.enjoy the golf tomorrow fellow boardies,the weathers to be good.

Blessed Lakes 3 Blainroe 3. In a bit of a mad one both home teams only got half a point. The lakes are out again next Saturday against our next door neighbors Tulfarris in what should be a great game, good bunch of lads down there.

Congratulations to Wicklow Golf club on wining the Garden County Trophy v Blessington Lakes golf Club in Arklow yesterday. The score being 4.5 too 1.5. Very tough conditions according to reports so well done Wicklow.
