Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I checked carzone.ie for specs.
    I40 max speed 118mph, 0-60 in 12 secs. Engine size 1.7 diesel
Mondeo max speed 130mph, 0-60 in 9 secs for a 2l Diesel engine.
Big difference in spec tbh. Would far prefer the Mondeo especially for the motorway runs towards Dublin with the u/ts

Jesus Christ, 12 seconds for a Cop car!!!

    That's a joke

In other news, there's supposedly 35 Honda Deauville 700cc motorbikes landing in March, however I doubt they'll be any different than the current crop.

Not half enough. Also, the Deau is no longer being produced by Honda, so all will be in service for quite a while to come. Replacement for the Larger bikes is also a pressing issue. The longer the wait, the less advanced motorcyclists there will be.

A bike is 78c a kilometre to run, a diesel is 29c a kilometre, so I'm surprised they're even getting any bikes at all!

There is reason other than cost to have motorcycles, and there are shelves full of reasons in the Garda College Library. I presume you include the PPE in the cost per km?

After having the i30 for the while, its really a great car, plenty of power. Well worth it.

Apparently so much power that one of our petrol heads thought it was a 2l engine

I don't think PPE is included in that. Those figures were quoted by the Depot on a bike repair application.

I still have no idea what engine it is,I've been told about 5 different engine sizes.

Repair? Did they crash it weekly? That doesn't add up.

I wondered having read here on this very informative thread, would I easily spot one of AGS's new i30 unmarked patrol cars. Considering of course the usual and obvious attachments are no longer as blatant.
So thank you to the lads who parked their new unmarked Hyundai i30 car in the Garda Only parking spot outside the front door of Anglesea station.

Why would they park it anywhere else?

Because they were too late to use the car park at the back.
